Benny's open letter to the press.Slussen. Open letter to Mayor Sten Nordin
Benny Andersson: Do you want to be remembered as Stockholm's worst murderer?

Hi Sten Nordin.
I have some matters of Stockholm's Future.
Do you not think it would be useful to those who bear the greatest responsibility for such a large and of so many vitally important change in the urban environment as a conversion of lock means, took the time to listen to and consider the arguments against the proposed new exists ?
For example:
Do you think it is good for the environment in the old town to widen the wharf with 20 feet and building an eight-lane motorway? How do you think we who live here, not to mention the tourists who find their way to Stockholm, will see it?
Do you think it is good for all who travel by public transport to make the bus terminal 500 meters from the subway? And how can a pedestrian access from Old Town to the south side square / Götgatan / Hornsgatan when you have to climb as many steps as in a four-story building before it is up? Or down. Have you so, given much thought to accessibility for parents with prams, disabled or elderly? How are they going to do? What happens when the stairs are covered with ice and snow? And why should you as pedestrians be waiting at a red light when there are locks to any planners who have not finished thinking? Do you think it's a good idea to turn off all traffic around Slussen in seven years? Do you think it really will affect economic activity in the South? And when traffic comes in once again, have you told the SL's drivers and any other drivers that you have to run around the old town, to turn, which direction they may come from? That which you now can easily do on Slussplan. How do you think the incidents in the two planned T-intersections can fail to cause stopped in the queue at all Slussens approaches?
Do you think it is good that it will blow a huge hole in the Catherine Hill for a bus terminal? What does it cost? How many billions? How do you think that in time will affect the planned expansion of the subway to Nacka / Värmdö?
Do you think we need another big mall in Stockholm? At 35,000 square feet. Twice as much space as the National Museum. What do you think all the hundreds of shop owners and traders in the area like it?
Do you think the views from Slussen of Salt Lake can do the same? Or would you rather have a few office buildings there? Is there really someone who agrees with you, apart from those that you intend to give a mandate to build?
Why have you brought forward the decision date of issue until 28 November? And is it true what many say, that you have muzzled the officials at City Hall who set about the same issues as I do? Is it true that you have banned the City Museum to hold meetings on the issue? Is that democratic?
I know that you, as many politicians find it difficult to answer yes or no to direct questions, but you can hardly enjoy a "do not know" option in this case.
If you have a leader who thinks it is important to listen to what people say when he is traveling the country, do you think he's doing wrong? And have you so, told him?
It is difficult to find a single person who does not think that Stockholm is a beautiful city. I wish that it may continue to be. And that will do it with Foster & Partners and Berg's disastrous idea of how lock should be designed. Why is it wrong that the necessary repairs to keep it as it is? And if for some reason can not be done, it is Slussen Culture a fantastic idea on how the lock might look like in the future. A place for everyone. In the heart of Stockholm.
So when you are tired of your crystal ball, I think, and probably a million people with me, that you should take this to you, Sten Nordin. Or rather, we demand it of you.
If not, then I think you will in future be regarded as the worst murderer in Stockholm's modern history.

ABBA By Micke Fantastic moments!

We
accompany Micke Bayart as a teenage in the mid eighties, when he was
covering small and major events involving members of ABBA for a German
fan club publication named ABBA Fan-Blatt. In fact, by that time, ABBA
had already disbanded as a group and the members had launched new
careers. Björn and Benny were receiving attention for their musical,
Chess, while Agnetha and Frida were releasing their own solo albums. In
this book, we follow in the group members’ footsteps through articles
from Fan-Blatt. The most striking feature, of course, is the fact that
the author met the members and interviewed them on several occasions.
These meetings took place in connection with ABBA’s appearances in
Germany, on visits to members’ homes in Sweden, at Polar Studios or in
the Polar Office in Stockholm. Micke’s self-sacrificing devotion was
quite amazing. It drove the teenage Micke to pop up like a
jack-in-a-box, sometimes here and sometimes there, to interview the ABBA
members.
Some of the great features in the book:
• Promotions - Eyes of a woman in Germany 1985
• Interview with Benny at the Polar Studio 1985
• Interview with Frida’s father 1985
• German Music Award honours Chess 1985
• Meeting with Frida 1986
• Chess première in London 1986
• Interview with Benny at the Polar office 1987
• Summer 1987 – Meeting Tommy Körberg at the Prince Edward Theatre and Benny at his summer cottage
• Summer 1988 – Björn in Henley, UK
A highly recommended book for All ABBA fans.

Frida In Italy

Anni-Frid Lyngstad, Visited Agrigentino The former lead singer of the band ”Abba”, stayed at the Verdura Golf Resort. Immediately in love with southern beauty, Frida spent relaxing days between Sciacca and Siculiana sea, which can also taste the flavors of Sicily.

She took care of her and her “sophisticated” palate visiting restaurant “The Cliff” by Paolo Spataro. With his usual thoroughness the chef and the maitre d ‘Tony Giusy provided a special lunch. The singer, visibly satisfied, expressed desire to return to the land of Sicily. Frida brought with them an indelible memory of her stay.
